Harry Redknapp is confident Queens Park Rangers will improve once his summer signings get up to speed.

Rangers have scored just one goal in five games in all competitions and go into the home match against Stoke on Saturday off the back of a second consecutive 4-0 away defeat having lost to Tottenham and Manchester United respectively.

Redknapp made 10 summer signings to strengthen his squad, however the majority arrived after the campaign began.

The 67-year-old former Spurs boss feels there is a lot more to come from his side and says they won’t go on a downward spiral like they did when they were relegated in 2013.

He said: “We will only get stronger. We have a good group of lads here, a good atmosphere and that will stand us in good stead. We have had players who aren’t really up to speed. We brought a lot of new players into the club and it was a problem.

“Some hadn’t played pre-season games for their clubs, one or two had been to the World Cup and we were a little bit behind the pace. We have made chances in the two home games but away we have had two heavy defeats and not scored, that is a bit concerning. But we will get better.”
