Foul play: The young Coquelin fan brings his opponent down

Arsenal's Francis Coquelin has inspired a young Gunners fan to follow in his footsteps.

The midfielder certainly isn't afraid of a tackle and was fortunate not to be given his marching orders during the north London club's 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace last week.

Referee Lee Mason opted to keep his red card tucked away in his pocket as the 24-year-old tiptoed along the discplinary tightrope, much to the Selhurst Park faithful's annoyance.

The Frenchman's exploits seem to have resonated with one young Arsenal fan, who was guilty of some foul play of his own during a children's kickabout.

The fan can be seen wearing a gold Arsenal away shirt with Coquein on the back underneath his customary yellow bib and, like his hero, is partial to getting stuck in.

Just as the opposition attempt to launch a counter attack he ruthlessly trips up his opponent, who is kitted out in a Spurs jersey.

Undeterred, he trundles back in an attempt to win the ball and hacks down a striker.

Cue a rather sheepish glance back at the camera. That face has guilty written all over it.

If Arsene Wenger still needs a defensive midfielder in a decade, he knows where to look.
