Calum Chambers and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain showed heretofore unknown technical skills in the warm up for Arsenal’s game against Manchester United this weekend.
In a video you can watch below the two English youngsters engage in a thoroughly impressive set of cross-field volleyed passes without letting the ball drop down.
For a centre-back Chambers displays particularly good technique, and it seems even he was impressed by his own abilities.
He tweeted at Oxlade-Chamberlain, labelling the duo’s performance “not bad”. It certainly seemed better than that.

Despite the impressive warm-up neither player came close to making Arsene Wenger’s starting XI. Only Oxlade-Chamberlain made it on to the pitch during Arsenal’s spectacular 3-0 win over United, playing 15 minutes when the result was already decided.

Chambers, by contrast, did not display his form in the warm up when he was on the pitch. He struggled in his appearance against Liverpool in August, with Wenger admitting he was tempted to substitute the young defender.
