Mauricio Pochettino believes new signing Vincent Janssen is a "perfect" fit for Tottenham.
AZ Alkmaar were reluctant to come to the negotiating table last month but Janssen has penned a four-year deal to become Tottenham's second signing of the summer.
The 22-year-old's arrival will bolster the north Londoners' attacking options, having had to rely on Harry Kane as their only out-and-out striker for the majority of last season.
Janssen arrives in a rich vein of form after scoring an impressive total of 27 goals in the Eredivisie last season and Pochettino is adamant the forward ticks all the boxes required by Spurs.
“Vincent is still very young and his potential is massive to develop," Pochettino told the club's official website.
"He has a profile that fits perfectly for us.
"He has quality in the box and he’s a striker that likes to fight and work for the team. That is perfect for us.
"His human profile is perfect for the team, we always care about that. In general, he’s a player that fits the team," the Argentine coach added.
The Premier League represents a step up for Janssen, who has also won a handful of senior caps for the Netherlands, but Pochettino has stressed the striker has time to adapt to his new surroundings.
“We’re all excited. It’s early in pre-season, just the second week and he will have time to adapt. We wish all the best for him," insisted Pochettino.
Spurs begin their season with a trip to Everton on August 13 before home games against Crystal Palace and Liverpool.
