Villarreal are likely to have felt right at home following their arrival at Liverpool's John Lennon Airport on Tuesday after the team went to see the city's famous Yellow Submarine statue.

The Spanish side landed in Liverpool on Tuesday afternoon before the team made their way to their hotel ahead of their crunch Europa League semi-final second leg with Jurgen Klopp's men tonight.

But before they departed John Lennon Airport, the Villarreal players made sure to stop by and take pictures with the Yellow Submarine statue that stands outside the airport - which proved fitting considering the club are nicknamed the Yellow Submarines.

The 51-foot statue was built in 1984 in memory of the Beatles' Yellow Submarine song, released 15 years earlier, and provided a warm welcome for Villarreal's players and staff.

The La Liga outfit come into their game against Liverpool with a 1-0 lead following Adrian Lopez's injury-time winner in Spain last week.

The Reds must score at least two goals without conceding to book their place in the Europa League final, which will be their first appearance in a European finale for a decade.

The winners of the semi-final tie at Anfield tonight will face either Spanish holders Sevilla or Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.
