Tottenham's Marcus Edwards and Fulham prospect Ryan Sessegnon have both been included in England's Under-19s squad for this summer's European Championship.

Edwards is highly rated at Spurs, having made his competitive senior debut in September's EFL Cup victory over Gillingham.

Mauricio Pochettino has done little to dampen the hype surrounding Edwards, who is on the verge of breaking into Tottenham's first-team fold, after comparing the midfielder to Lionel Messi.

The 18-year-old has represented the Three Lions at a variety of age groups and will be aiming to play a key part for Keith Downing’s side this summer.

Sessegnon's progress is also set to be followed closely by Spurs fans as Standard Sport understands the Fulham full-back is firmly on the north Londoners' list of transfer targets.

The 17-year-old scored seven goals in 30 appearances last season and has been courted by a number of top clubs.

A total of 12 London based players, including five members of the Chelsea youth side that won the FA Youth Cup in April, have been deemed worthy of a place in Downing's selection.

England have been drawn in a difficult group and will play Bulgaria, Netherlands and Germany.
