Harry Kane is 'desperate' to see Leicester drop points against Southampton in the wake of Tottenham's 1-1 draw against Liverpool tonight.

The north Londoners missed the chance to cut Leicester's lead at the top to just two points after being held by Jurgen Klopp's side at Anfield.

Philippe Coutinho fired the hosts in front when he finished off a fine passing move but Kane levelled the scores with his 22nd strike of the season.

However, failure to find a winner has handed the Foxes a chance to climb seven points clear with victory against Southampton on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs are likely to need their rivals to slip up if they are to lift their first title since 1961 and Kane has admitted he is keen for Claudio Ranieri's side to fluff their lines.

"Of course," he told Sky Sports. "I'd be lying if I was sitting here and saying I wasn't too bothered.

"We're fighting for the Premier League title.

"We'll be watching [Leicester's] game tomorrow. Hopefully Southampton can get a result.

"We've done what we can today - and there's nothing else we can do - but hopefully Southampton can do us a favour," he added.

Leicester have dropped points at the King Power Stadium on just six occasions this season ahead of the visit of Ronald Koeman's side.
