Tottenham's Dele Alli swaps football for UFC, Ashes cricket, rugby and more in new BT advert

It's safe to say Dele Alli is a pretty good footballer.

From his arrival at Tottenham from MK Dons for just £5m in 2015 to his starring role as Spurs finished second in the Premier League last season - a campaign Alli scored 18 goals in - the midfielder has certainly cemented his standing as one of England's current best players.

But have you ever wondered if the 21-year-old would be good at another sport, say, rugby or even boxing?

Well, that's what BT Sport decided to investigate in their brand new advert in which Alli is seen trying his hand at several sports against some of the world's best athletes.

Aired for the first time during the half-time break of England Women's Euro semi-final clash against the Netherlands on Thursday, Alli is seen being tackled by Maro Itoje, sledged by Australian cricket captain Steve Smith and trying to go a few rounds with Anthony Yarde, who Standard Sport interviewed last month, in a boxing ring.

The advert aims to showcase BT Sport’s range of top live sport, including Aviva Premiership Rugby, the Ashes, UFC, boxing and NBA.

It was launched on the same day the broadcaster announced Chelsea legend Frank Lampard as a new pundit for the upcoming season.
