Tottenham star Son Heung-Min scoops Player of the Year gong at London Football Awards

PA

Tottenham forward Son Heung-Min has been crowned Premier League Player of the Year at the London Football Awards.

The awards, which celebrate the best of London football in the 2018/19 season, saw the South Korean recognised for a sparkling run of form that has helped Spurs to third in the Premier League and within touching distance of a Champions League quarter-final.

Son has 16 goals and nine assists in 34 games in all competitions this season, and also helped South Korea to win gold at the 2018 Asian Games.

The 26-year-old beat off competition from teammate Harry Kane, who won the award last year, and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who he will face in the North London derby on Saturday.
