New Tottenham stadium: Watch as fans given first tour of new home in exclusive sneak peek

Tottenham fans were given their first tour of the club's new stadium on Sunday in a big step towards a grand opening.

Spurs have granted early access to 6,000 fans for a tour of the South Stand and podium areas during a four-hour event on Sunday, December 16, during late morning and early afternoon.

The new stadium needs to pass two tests events to get the safety licence required to open, though the fan tours are not understood to count towards that quota.

The much-delayed stadium's latest rough opening projection is February or March, with an update from contractors expected in January.

Daniel Levy apologised to fans this week when confirming a fresh delay to construction.

"We are acutely conscious that we are asking fans to go to Wembley for far longer than any of us wanted to," he said in a statement. "However we are now seeing the progress that we needed to see.

“What I don’t want to do is set any firm dates until we have finally achieved a safety certificate. So many people tell me to look at other major schemes that run late and, whilst I know it happens often, we are still hugely frustrated.

Attentions now turn to hosting Tottenham's Champions League last-16 home leg in February.
