Mauricio Pochettino has urged Tottenham's Euro 2016 internationals to get back up to speed during this afternoon's pre-season friendly against Inter Milan.

The likes of Harry Kane, Hugo Lloris, Mousa Dembele, Dele Alli and Eric Dier are yet to feature in pre-season, having been granted additional time off due to their involvement at the tournament in France earlier this summer.

But Pochettino has taken an almost full strength squad to Oslo to face the Serie A side and is eager to see some of Tottenham's most important players step up their preparations with the start of the Premier League season just over one week away.

“I think our preparation for this game is arriving in a good moment for us," he told the club's official website.

"All the internationals are involved in the game, it is important to recover the feeling but the most important thing is to start the season in a very good condition.

“We have another week to prepare for the start of the Premier League and ensure that we arrive in a very good condition,” he added.

Spurs are yet to record a victory in pre-season, apart from behind-closed-door encounters, having lost to both Juventus and Atletico Madrid in Australia earlier last month.

But Pochettino is adamant that he is pleased with the progress that has been made as he plots a second successive title challenge.

"We are very happy in the way that we are. It’s an exciting season ahead.

"I think that we all are very excited to start to play and compete because in the end it’s been a long time (since the club's last competitive game) and every player wants to compete.”

Spurs start their Premier League campaign away at Everton before home clashes against Crystal Palace and Tottenham.
