Tim Sherwood made two changes for his first match as permanent head coach of Tottenham.
Nacer Chadli and Lewis Holtby came in for Erik Lamela and Mousa Dembele while 18-year-old midfielder Milos Veljkovic was named on the substitutes' bench for the first time.
Matej Vydra started in a West Brom team that contained seven changes from the XI that drew 1-1 with Hull on Saturday.
