Tottenham could sell 10 stars as Ange Postecoglou faces Harry Kane question

New Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou will oversee a significant overhaul of the Spurs squad during a summer of change at the club.

Hugo Lloris, Ivan Perisic, Eric Dier, Ben Davies and Davinson Sanchez head a list of at least 10 players whose futures are under threat. Ryan Sessegnon, Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon, Harry Winks and Bryan Gil could also leave as part of a clear-out.

Postecoglou will look to reshape his squad for next season, and the Australian also faces a decision on the future of Tanguy Ndombele.

Spurs need to reduce the size of their squad after missing out on European football for next season and player sales will be needed to help fund plans for new signings.

Spurs captain Lloris has confirmed he wants to leave this summer and the goalkeeper is seeking a new challenge after 11 years and more than 400 appearances for the club. Like Lloris, Perisic has just one year left on his contract and could leave after failing to impress since being signed by Antonio Conte on a free transfer last summer.

Spurs are likely to listen to offers for Dier and Davies, as they bid to upgrade their defence, while Sanchez needs a fresh start after being booed by supporters in April and has spoken about wanting to play more regular football.

Sessegnon has never lived up to his promise since his £25million move from Fulham in 2019, while Lo Celso and Gil are saleable assets after seasons on loan in Spain. Winks spent this season on loan at Sampdoria, who finished bottom of Serie A.

Reguilon is due to return from a loan spell at Atletico Madrid but faces new competition at left-back from Destiny Udogie, who moves to Spurs this summer, a year after he was signed from Udinese on an initial £15m deal.

Ndombele made 30 Serie A appearances for Italian champions Napoli during a loan spell this season. The Frenchman still has two years on the contract he signed following his £63m transfer from Lyon in 2019, but has struggled to adapt to the Premier League.

The biggest issue for Postecoglou to address will be whether Harry Kane is part of his squad next season.
