Tottenham have confirmed the sale of defender Vlad Chiriches to Italian club Napoli.
The 25-year-old joined Spurs from Steaua Bucharest in the summer of 2013, but he struggled to establish himself at White Hart Lane.
The Romania international made just 10 appearances in the Premier League last season and fell out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino, who preferred to call upon the talent of Jan Vertonghen, Eric Dier and Federico Fazio rather than Chiriches.
With question marks over his role in the side and place in the pecking order, an agreement for the defender has been reached between the north Londoners and Napoli, who finished fifth in Serie A last season.

"We wish Vlad every success for the future," a statement on Tottenham's official site read.
Details of the deal are yet to be revealed in regards to the sale of Chiriches, who made 43 first-team appearances for Spurs.
