Former Tottenham midfielder Nacer Chadli has revealed he decided to join West Brom this summer because the Baggies "really wanted him."
Chadli was previously a key member of Mauricio Pochettino's side and made a total of 35 Premier League appearances for Spurs during the 2014/15 season.
But the Belgium international slipped down the pecking order last term and was often restricted to substitute appearances for the north Londoners.
With Pochettino prepared to place his faith in other players at Spurs Chadli opted to move on and is pleased with his decision to join Tony Pulis at the Hawthorns.
“I had a few clubs interested but West Brom came very quickly and they showed concrete interest and wanted to make it happen," he told his new club's official website.
“I thought if they really want me, it’s important for me to go there and prove myself.
“That’s why I chose West Brom.
"I spoke to the manager and the good people at the club, and I was very convinced about my choice," he added.
The presence of Sebastien Pocognoli, who has since joined Brighton on loan, also swayed Chadli's decision to move to the Midlands as he played with the defender at international level.
"I spoke a bit to Pocognoli who was here, he was very positive about the club.
"I spoke to the manager and the good people at the club, and I was very convinced about my choice.
"I’ve known Sebastien for a long time, ever since I was 12 years old back in Standard Liege, he’s from my hometown," Chadli added.
Chadli is in line to make his competitive debut for West Brom when the Baggies travel to Bournemouth on Saturday.
