Tottenham have secured top spot in Group H after Tuesday's Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund.
After earning a convincing win over Real Madrid in matchday four, Spurs just needed to match the holders' result against APOEL Nicosia to confirm their placing in the group with one game to spare.
Mauricio Pochettino's side started sluggishly in Dortmund as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put the hosts ahead going into the interval with a well-struck finish past Hugo Lloris, but Harry Kane levelled soon after the break.
With Real Madrid leading APOEL 6-0, Dele Alli then created the decisive goal for Spurs as he teed up Heung-min Son for a superbly taken goal to seal the points and top spot for Pochettino's men.
Following the group stage draw in August, Tottenham were widely considered to have been placed in annual 'Group of Death', alongside historic back-to-back winners Real and former finalists Dortmund.
Just 12 months ago Spurs had crashed out of a group containing Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen and CSKA Moscow with one game to spare, winning just twice in six games to drop into the Europa League.
But a 3-1 win over Dortmund was followed by a Harry Kane hat-trick for a 3-0 win in Cyprus and then holding Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu before Dele Alli scored twice to down the Liga giants at Wembley.
Spurs now head into the Champions League knockout stages with a top seeding. They have only reached the last-16 stage once before as they reached the quarter-finals in 2011 before being knocked out by Real Madrid
