Tottenham crashed out of the FA Cup to Championship side Middlesbrough, losing 1-0 to Josh Coburn’s extra-time strike.
The defeat means Spurs run without a trophy will extend to a 15th season and they still have not won the FA Cup since 1991.

Kept Spurs in the tie with smart saves from Isaiah Jones and Marcus Tavernier. Commanded his area well and powerless to keep out the goal.
Cristian Romero 5
Allowed Coburn to escape behind for the decisive moment. Made a couple of eye-catching blocks and tackles but his defending, particularly at set pieces, was largely suspect.
Eric Dier 5
Failed to stop the pass for Coburn’s winner as the substitute ran into acres of space. Twice went close to scoring with a free-kick well saved and header over the bar. Made a last-ditch tackle to stop Boro scoring late in normal time
Ben Davies 6
Set Sessegnon free with an excellent early pass but it was to be his only attacking contribution of note.
Matt Doherty 5
Threatened to follow up his first goal for the club with another, but blazed over with the goal gaping before sending a low effort wide. Faded as the game went on and offered next to nothing in the second half.
Harry Winks 5
Squandered possession too often and gave away some cheap fouls in dangerous areas during an underwhelming showing.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg 5
More than once was outfoxed by Boro’s midfielders, who often looked the more composed pair. Aimed some several diagonals over the top –but none came off.
Ryan Sessegnon 6
Spurs’ brightest player in the early exchanges but struggled to make an impact as the game went on. His touch and passing was often erratic.
Dejan Kulusevski 6
Involved in some bright moments, including a smart ball which just evaded Kane and a cross for Son. His touch was sometimes clumsy, leading attacks to break down.
Heung-min Son 5
Had perhaps Spurs’ three best chances of the night, all saved by Joe Lumley, but his all-round game was littered with errors. Frequently gave the ball away and might have been replaced if Spurs had more in reserve.
Harry Kane 6
Full of clever touches but the only time the ball dropped for him in the area he was harshly flagged offside.

Emerson Royal (Doherty 81’) 5
Offered nothing from the bench and repeatedly gave the ball away, including in the build up to Boro’s winner.
Steven Bergwijn (Sessegnon 81’) 7
Added life to Spurs’ limp attack with his pace and directness. Should really have been introduced sooner.
Sergio Reguilon (Kulusevski 106’) 5
Hopefully appealed for offside rather than tried to get back for Boro’s winner.
