Tottenham misfit Emmanuel Adebayor has been offered to Chelsea as an option to solve their goal-scoring problems.
Chelsea are looking to sign another centre forward next month and they have made Leicester City star Jamie Vardy their top target.
But Adebayor is looking to make a return to the Premier League in January after being released from Tottenham in September.
The north London club are still paying his £100,000-a-week wages and will do so until his contract runs out in the summer - unless someone else agrees to take him on.
Standard Sport revealed yesterday that Watford have already spoken to Spurs about the possibility of paying a percentage of the Togo international's salary, although they're still undecided whether they want to go through with any deal.
It is believed a number of clubs, including Chelsea, have been approached about taking on Adebayor in the past few months by his representatives.
However, it is understood Adebayor is now conducting his own talks over his future and is looking for a London club.
A move to Chelsea seems less likely now that Jose Mourinho, who signed the 31-year-old on loan while at Real Madrid in 2011, has left the club.

But the Blues want to improve their options up front, especially as Radamel Falcao is set to rejoin parent club Monaco after a disastrous spell on loan.
Falcao has scored just one goal since agreeing to join Chelsea on a season-long deal in the summer and started just two matches.
