Tottenham have to beat Manchester United to keep the title race alive, says Harry Kane

Tottenham striker Harry Kane is still confident the club can end a 55-year wait for the Premier League title this season.

Spurs briefly pulled to within four points of leaders Leicester with a 1-1 draw at Anfield on Saturday, but the Foxes' victory over Southampton on Sunday ensured they moved seven points clear of Mauricio Pochettino's men with six to play.

It means four wins from their remaining six fixtures will clinch the title for Claudio Ranieri's men regardless of other results. And Kane, who was on target as Tottenham came from behind to share the spoils at Anfield, believes Spurs must beat Manchester United this weekend to keep the race alive.

Asked if the north Londoners are still in a title tussle, he said: "Yes, of course. Anything can still happen.

"Leicester would be doing very well to win every game from now until the end of the season.

"We have just got to do what we can and now we have to focus on Man United.

"We're looking forward to it. But, basically, we have to get a win."

Kane's equaliser at Anfield saw him pull three goals clear of Leicester's Jamie Vardy in the race for the Premier League golden boot.

The 22-year-old added: I believe in my ability and try in every game to get better. I've gone ahead of last season but there are six games left for me to get as many goals as possible."
