Tottenham have developed more current Premier League players than any other top-flight club, according to new figures published by the CIES Football Observatory.

Mauricio Pochettino's willingness to give youngsters a chance to prove their worth has been championed this season with the likes of Dele Alli and Eric Dier establishing themselves at White Hart Lane.

Spurs moved up to fifth place in the Premier League table courtesy of an emphatic 4-1 victory over West Ham and hope has been renewed in regards to the team's ability to secure a top-four finish.

But it's not just the north Londoners that are benefitting from the club's youth policy.

Those who haven't made the grade at White Hart Lane, or moved elsewhere, are also included in the total of 30 players that are plying their trade in the Premier League this season who featured for Spurs before the age of 23.

Yet not only the amount of players affects the Development Index with employment rate - the average percentage of minutes played since the start of the season for the employer club - also taken into account.

The ages of the players in question also affect the score with weighting for an appearance under the age of 21 double that of an appearance between the age of 21-23.
