Christian Eriksen says it's 'payback time' for Premier League champions Leicester next season as Tottenham prepare to mount a serious title challenge in the 2016/17 campaign.

Next season's Premier League fixtures were released on Wednesday morning, with Spurs handed a trip to Everton on the first day of the campaign before taking on Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane the following weekend.

Spurs will be hoping to put more pressure on Leicester this time around as their previous title bid fell apart at the tail-end of the campaign, with north London rivals Arsenal pipping Mauricio Pochettino's side to second place.

Pochettino is looking to strengthen his squad for the coming season, and responding to his club's fixture list via a WhatsApp conversation, Eriksen gave his thoughts on a number of key fixtures for Spurs via a series a hashtag answers.

Regarding their first league game against Everton away on August 13, he said: "#startstrong".

Spurs' first home game of the campaign takes place against London rivals Crystal Palace on August 20, to which the Danish attacker said: "#thelaneatmosphere".

Pochettino then faces a battle of wits against Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool head to White Hart Lane on August 27, with Eriksen labelling it a "#cracker".

The next significant game sees Spurs take on Man City at the Lane on October, with Eriksen calling for a similar performance to last season's 4-1 drubbing: #likelastseason".

Spurs then face champions Leicester at the end of the month on October 29, with Eriksen keen on "#paybacktime" after Claudio Ranieri's side triumphed last term.

It doesn't get any easier for Pochettino's men with a short trip to Arsenal son after on November 5, for which Eriksen has called on the club to be "#togetherthfc".

Eriksen then made light of his costly miss against Manchester United in last season's 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford, saying of next season's trip on December 10: "iwontmissthisyear".

As for Spurs' Champions League draw on August 25, Eriksen responded with the following: "#cantwait #itwillbefun #excited".
