Tottenham are starting to see the benefits of chairman Daniel Levy's long-term planning, according to former Spurs midfielder Andy Reid.

The north London club have been upwardly mobile in recent seasons, having thrived on the pitch during Mauricio Pochettino's tenure in charge.

Spurs have also taken huge steps off the pitch by virtue of their new stadium, which is due to open before the 2018/19 season.

An increased capacity of 61,000 will mean Tottenham's new base will boost matchday revenue significantly and help the club to compete with the Premier League's elite teams.

The majority of Tottenham's players have also been tied to long-term contracts and, with the club's future appearing to be so bright, Reid is adamant Levy's work has been invaluable.

Andy Reid, speaking exclusively to 888sport, said: "The plans they have been putting into place with the new training ground and new stadium and bringing in quality players, this has been going on for the last eight or so years.

"Daniel Levy has been the chairman for a long time now and a lot of the credit has to go to him, then you have people behind the scenes who have built the infrastructure at the club.

"The players now believe they have the right manager in place and this has been going on for a while and the fans are starting to see the fruits of it now.”

Tottenham have revealed a series of images of their new ground, which is set to be 'the most technologically advanced stadium' in the world.

A 17,000 capacity single tier is expected to ensure the stadium's atmosphere is retained and Reid is hopeful the ground will help push the club forward.

"It will be absolutely fantastic and we’ve seen what a new stadium has done for Arsenal.

"It’s put them in a really secure position and it’s great that Tottenham can do that while pushing ahead on the playing side as well with one not taking away from the other.

"I loved playing at White Hart Lane so I really hope they’re able to retain the atmosphere.

"That’s difficult to recreate but I’m sure it’s in the thoughts of the chairman and those designing the stadium to keep the traditions," he added.
