Tottenham supporters’ trust to hold urgent meeting over club’s ownership after European Super League fiasco

Tottenham's supporters' trust will meet on Friday evening to establish a position on the club's ownership in the wake of their involvement in the aborted European Super League.

Supporter dissatisfaction at chairman Daniel Levy and owners, ENIC, has increased since the fiasco and there was a small demonstration of angry fans outside the stadium ahead of Wednesday's win over Southampton.

Eight thousand spectators will be at Wembley for Sunday's Carabao Cup Final between Spurs and Man City, including 2,000 fans of each club.

There could be more small-scale anti-Levy and anti-ENIC protests, although nothing formal has been planned.

The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust (THST) will hold an urgent members' meeting via Zoom this evening, which could result in more organised calls for change from the group, with the board keeping their counsel until they have established the firm position of their membership.

Man City were also part of the Super League's 'dirty dozen' but there is no appetite among fans to call for resignations, despite fury over their club’s involvement in the project.

Chief executive Ferran Soriano has vowed to meet with supporters once Covid restrictions are lifted and has already issued an apology.
