Dele Alli and Danny Rose are expected to be assessed on Thursday and Friday by Tottenham ahead of Saturday’s trip to Swansea.

The pair took knocks towards the end of the 4-1 win at Bournemouth last Sunday, causing both to be substituted – Alli with a thigh problem, while Rose was said to be suffering only from fatigue.

Although boss Mauricio Pochettino and both players offered reassurances that the damage was not serious, Spurs are rarely willing to take risks, especially with an important game on the horizon.

The FA Cup represents Tottenham’s only chance of silverware this season and if they win their quarter-final at the Liberty Stadium, they will play their last-four tie at Wembley – where all their home games have been staged this season. Tottenham players believe that the national stadium will give them an advantage, whoever they play.

Meanwhile, the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust continues to receive messages from angry supporters who believe the club’s season-ticket prices for the 2018-19 will make it impossible for them to watch Spurs in their new 62,000-seat stadium. The overall cost of the project is more than £800million.

The Trust have lobbied Spurs on affordable ticketing and although the lowest and highest price points are comparable to those offered at White Hart Lane, the Trust still believe these are too high.
