Tottenham have confirmed Danny Rose is still "a number of weeks" away from full training.

Rose has not played for Spurs since injuring his knee in January's 0-0 draw with Sunderland.

The 26-year-old has already missed four games for Mauricio Pochettino's side and is not set to return to training until March, which means he could miss a significant chunk of the run-in.

A Spurs statement read: "Danny continues to recover and rehabilitate, but remains a number of weeks away from full training."

Ben Davies has deputised at left back during Rose's absence and is expected to do so when Spurs host Gent in the Europa League last-32 on Thursday night.

The north Londoners trail 1-0 from the first leg and are set to be cheered on by a sell-out Wembley crowd as they attempt to over the deficit.

Meanwhile, Erik Lamela remains sidelined with a hip problem and Spurs are yet to confirm a date for his return to full training.
