Tottenham can shift style to suit all situations, says Kyle Walker

Kyle Walker believes Tottenham are capable of adapting to all situations after coming from behind to snatch a draw against Manchester City on Saturday.

Spurs were run ragged for an hour by a resurgent City at the Etihad Stadium and conceded twice in quick succession to Leroy Sane and Kevin De Bruyne after blunders by Hugo Lloris.

But second-placed Spurs hit back through Dele Alli and then grabbed an equaliser through substitute Son Heung-min after Raheem Sterling was denied what seemed an obvious penalty.

Mauricio Pochettino started the game with three at the back, but pushed Eric Dier into midfield as the visitors shifted to a flat back four.

"I think we can adapt our style to all situations. It shows the character in the team and the trust the gaffer puts in us to switch it up," Walker told BBC Sport.

After Alli had halved the deficit, Sterling galloped through on goal and Walker nudged him in the back to throw the City man off balance as he shaped to shoot.

The result was a tame Sterling shot which Hugo Lloris gathered comfortably as Pep Guardiola fumed on the touchline over the referee's decision not to award a penalty.

Walker added: "I wasn't going to get [the ball from Raheem Sterling] otherwise. You have to put him off as much as possible.

"We're taking every game as it comes. We're not worried about others, we'll do our job and see where it leaves us."
