There was no rest for West Ham or Tottenham's players on the hottest day of the year as the London clubs' players were put to work in training.
London sweltered as The Met Office issued a ‘level two’ heat warning yesterday across the capital.
Temperatures reached 34.4C (93.9F) in Gravesend, Kent, meaning that Tuesday was the UK's hottest day of 2016 and the warmest September day since 1911.
But Spurs were busy training at Hotspur Way ahead of their Champions League clash against AS Monaco at Wembley on Wednesday, with Mauricio Pochettino's side put through their paces despite the heat.
West Ham were also in training at London Stadium following their 4-2 home defeat against Watford on Saturday, with the club's official Twitter account saying the Slaven Bilic's squa was 'putting in the hard yards in this heatwave.'
The last time the mercury reached 30C in September was a decade ago, when temperatures hit 30.5C in Kew Gardens, on September 11, 2006.
