Tottenham and Chelsea fans stood united on Saturday as they observed a minute's applause for Ugo Ehiogu at Wembley Stadium.

Ehiogu, Spurs' Under-23s coach, passed away on Friday morning after suffering a cardiac arrest at the club's training base a day earlier.

Both Tottenham and Chelsea players wore black armbands in remembrance of the 44-year-old at Wembley, with both sets of fans applauding the England international before the FA Cup semi-final match between the two clubs as chants of "Ugo" went up around the stadium.

Ehiogu enjoyed a 20-year playing career most notably with Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, and Rangers, and had been Spurs' U23s coach since 2014.

Chelsea coach Antonio Conte paid tribute to Ehiogu on Friday and said the Blues' Cup clash with Spurs would provide the two teams with a great chance to pay their respects to the 44-year-old.

"I'd like to start the press conference by passing on from me and the players our condolences to Ugo's family," he said.

"I think that when there is this sad news, it’s never good.

"I think when this type of situation happens, football is not important.
