Tottenham came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at Wembley against a managerless West Brom with a performance that will cause Mauricio Pochettino plenty of concern.
Spurs have played well against their top six counterparts at their temporary home of Wembley Stadium, but they have had no such luck when it comes to breaking down defensive sides.
Spurs began in complete control, with the Baggies happy to sit and let them have the ball. That was until, after just four minutes, Jake Livermore robbed Dele Alli on halfway with the midfielder dawdling on the ball and found Salomon Rondon.
The Venezuelan broke forward and, after holding off Davinson Sanchez, rolled the ball past Hugo Lloris to hand Gary Megson a shock lead.
It was a lead the West Midlanders would staunchly defend until late into the second half. Though Tony Pulis has left, this was very much still his side here at Wembley - the visitors sat deep, organised and happy to let Spurs play in front of them.
The equaliser, though, came from the first instance of a white shirt getting behind those in green as Kieran Trippier found Alli who, via a deflection off of former Arsenal man Kieran Gibbs, found the outstreched boot of Harry Kane. The England international poked home to score his 40th club goal of 2017.
Spurs, who have won just one in their last four in the Premier League, now have a run against the Leicester, Watford, Stoke and Brighton to rectify their form.
However, with West Brom providing a blueprint of how to set up to frustrate the north Londoners, the Christmas run-in could be concerning indeed.
