Tiemoue Bakayoko may have only been a Chelsea player for five days, but the midfielder made sure he gave a warm welcome to the Blues' latest capture Alvaro Morata on Thursday.

Bakayoko completed a £40million move to the Premier League champions from Monaco on Saturday but has been left behind in London to continue recovering from a minor knee injury while Antonio Conte and the Chelsea team have flown to the Far East for their pre-season preparations.

With Bakayoko recuperating at the club's training base in Cobham, the defensive midfielder was present to welcome Morata to Chelsea after the Spain striker jetted in from the US to undergo a medical ahead of his expected £70million transfer from Real Madrid.

Morata touched down at Heathrow on Thursday morning before making his way to Cobham where he will finalise personal terms on his contract and undergo a medical before signing for Chelsea.

And Bakayoko took the opportunity of being in London to welcome Morata to the club after he posted a snap of the pair onto his Instagram stories on Thursday evening with the word 'Welcome'.

Chelsea have also signed Antonio Rudiger this summer but the defender, along with Eden Hazard, has been left out of Conte's travelling party for the trip to Beijing where the Blues will play Arsenal on Saturday.
