Jose Mourinho's appointment as Manchester United's new manager is likely to cause Chelsea fans to wonder just where it all went wrong for the 'Special One' at Stamford Bridge.

After all, the Portuguese coach only led the Blues to the Premier League title last May, as well as the Capital One Cup a few months earlier, before a surprising set of results at the beginning of the 2015/16 campaign led to his dismissal in December from a club he cherishes dearly.

Chelsea's woes last season all began on the first day of the campaign when Thibaut Courtois was sent off in an entertaining 2-2 draw at home to Swansea City before the champions went to Manchester City and were comfortably beaten 3-0.

Chelsea's struggles to secure their first home win of the season continued when the Blues were beaten by Crystal Palace, Southampon, Liverpool and then Bournemouth while away defeats to Everton, West Ham, Stoke and finally Leicester City - managed by former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri - put the nail in the coffin for Mourinho at the Bridge.
