Tottenham moved on to the FA Cup semi-finals with a routine win over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

Having required replays in the previous two rounds, Spurs dispatched the Swan with relative ease in this quarter-final clash.

First-half goals from Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela put Mauricio Pochettino’s side in control, and it could have been more had VAR not denied Spurs when the score was just 1-0 in their favour.

Heung-min Son looked onside before he curled an effort past Kristoffer Nordfeldt in the Swansea goal but, after consulting the virtual gods, referee Kevin Friend ruled the effort offside. The South Korean was level with the last defender at most.

Carlos Carvalhal injected energy into Swansea at half-time and the Martin Olsson and Tammy Abraham saw Michel Vorm called into a quick-fire double save minutes after the restart.

Their newfound urgency made the game finely poised, with the next goal looking crucial.

It proved to be the case, and it was Eriksen who got it.

Lucas Moura did well under pressure to make space inside the Swansea box after collecting Eric Dier's cross. The Brazilian played the ball to the edge of the box for Eriksen who slotted the ball beyond Nordfeldt.

It was not the cleanest of finishes, but it did the trick, as Pochettino’s side booked their place in Sunday’s semi-final draw.
