Steven Gerrard has loaned his collection of Liverpool medals and shirts to the club's Anfield museum as the departing Reds captain prepares to move to America.

Gerrard is set to join Los Angeles Galaxy this summer after agreeing an 18-month deal to play for the MLS outfit, and decided that Liverpool's museum is the perfect temporary home for his football collection.

The 35-year-old has given medals and trophies won during his time at Anfield plus his Liverpool and England shirts and jerseys swapped with other footballers to the museum.

Fans will be able to see Gerrard's memorabilia collection when an exhibition dedicated to the midfielder opens, with the media getting the chance to have a first look at the haul on Tuesday.

Gerrard departs Liverpool after scoring 186 goals in 710 appearances for his boyhood club.

The former England international admitted in January he would have extended his stay at the Merseyside club had Liverpool offered him a new deal last summer instead of later in the year.
