Spain fire up striker Jamie Mackie

Julian Bennetts11 April 2012

Jamie Mackie will go from playing against World Cup-winning defenders Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol to lining up against Norwich in the space of just four days.

But the Scotland striker will not underestimate the challenge he faces at Loftus Road tomorrow and is determined to keep up his stunning scoring form with QPR to get another chance at international level.

"Playing against Spain and the Czech Republic has given me more motivation to go back to my club and do my best," said the 25-year-old, who has scored eight goals in 11 league and cup games so far this season.

"It was a brilliant experience and now that I've had a little taste, especially at Hampden Park, I want a lot more."

At the other end of the pitch, QPR's water-tight defence are aiming for a sixth clean sheet in a row at home.
