'Fergie'... the film? Man Utd legend Sir Alex Ferguson in talks over documentary amid release of 'Busby'

1/13

Sir Alex Ferguson is expected to be the latest Manchester United icon to be immortalised on film.

Talks are believed to be ongoing over a documentary cataloguing the legendary manager's remarkable career.

A new film about Sir Matt Busby has just been released – and United supporters may soon look forward to seeing Ferguson’s story too.

Football documentaries have become a staple diet in recent years with Pep Guardiola’s second season at Manchester City the subject of an Amazon series, while behind the scenes looks at Sunderland and Leeds United have also been brought to the screen.

The producers of ‘Busby’ had wanted Ferguson to take part in the film, but were unable to align schedules with the United great.

Ferguson has written several books about his life and career – but if the documentary materialises, it will be first time his full story has been told on screen.
