Ryan Giggs will not take charge of Wales for their next three matches against the USA, Republic of Ireland and Finland, the Football Association of Wales (FAW) have confirmed.

In a statement released on Tuesday afternoon, the FAW announced that manager Giggs had mutually agreed not to be involved in the upcoming international camp, with coach Robert Page set to take the reins instead with the support of Giggs’ assistant Albert Stuivenberg.

Giggs was due to hold a press conference on Wednesday, announcing his latest squad.

But those plans were abandoned, following reports that police were called to an incident at the 46-year-old’s home on Sunday night.

He was arrested and later bailed on suspicion of allegedly assaulting Kate Greville, his girlfriend of three years.

A statement on behalf of Giggs said: “Mr Giggs denies all allegations of assault made against him.

"He is co-operating with the police and will continue to assist them with their ongoing investigations.”

Greater Manchester Police said: “Police were called at 10.05pm on Sunday to reports of a disturbance. A woman in her 30s sustained minor injuries but did not require any treatment.

"A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of section 47 assault and section 39 common assault.”

The FAW said earlier on Tuesday that they were "aware of an alleged incident involving the men's national team manager Ryan Giggs".

They later released a follow-up statement confirming that Giggs would not manage the team in their next three games.

Wales are due to face the USA in a friendly at Swansea’s Liberty Stadium next Thursday night (November 12) before the home Uefa Nations League double-header against the Republic of Ireland (November 15) and Finland (November 18) in Cardiff.

“The Football Association of Wales and Ryan Giggs have mutually agreed that he will not be involved in the upcoming international camp," the FAW said.

"Our agreed immediate priority is preparing the team for the upcoming international matches.

"Robert Page, with Ryan’s support, will take charge for the next three matches against the USA, Republic of Ireland and Finland supported by Albert Stuivenberg.

"The Cymru squad for these upcoming matches will be announced on Thursday 5th November.

“The FAW will not be making any further comment at this current time.”

Giggs’ side have made a strong start in the Nations League and currently sit top of League B, Group 4 after winning three of their first four matches.
