Targets: Which of Ross Barkley or Riyad Mahrez should Spurs spend £50m on?

Tottenham are the only Premier League club yet to dip into the transfer market as their title rivals spend freely around them.

Two players of long-standing interest are Everton's Ross Barkley and Riyad Mahrez of Leicester City, though both clubs are insisting on £50million for either target.

Barkley is attracted by the prospect of working with Mauricio Pochettino after words with Tottenham's England contingent Harry Kane, Eric Dier and more.

Mahrez, meanwhile, insisted at the end of last season that he will leave Leicester City this summer, but is currently on the club's pre-season tour of Asia as Spurs ask to be kept informed of his situation.

Both midfielders offer different attacking talents, with Barkley a more central threat in the mould of Dele Alli or Christian Eriksen's preferred role, while Mahrez operates from out wide.

So, with £50m fictionally burning a hole in Daniel Levy's pocket, who should Spurs sign?
