Ronaldo plays down talk of new Real deal

Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to confirm reports he has agreed a new five-year contract with Real Madrid.

Spanish newspaper Marca claims Ronaldo will put pen to paper on a new deal worth £14.8million a year after tax, which would make him second only to Anzhi’s Samuel Eto’o as the world’s highest-paid player.

Ronaldo (right), the world’s most expensive player, said: “The situation still hasn’t been resolved and I don’t think now is the right time to talk about it.

“Perhaps we’ll be able to give more concrete news about this further down the line but now the only thing in my remit is to train.”
