Didier Drogba has revealed he previously questioned Roman Abramovich over the number of Chelsea managers he has sacked.

Since buying the club in 2003 the Russian billionaire has appointed 10 different managers, not including Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink's two spells.

Despite the chopping the changing Chelsea have won five Premier League titles, the FA Cup four times, Europa League and Champions League once, the latter two both under the guidance of interim head coaches.

"Everyone says Chelsea isn't very stable," Drogba told RMC Sport. "But in modern-day football, there is no coach who lasts more than three or four years at a club.

"I asked him [Abramovich]: 'We have had how many managers in how many seasons?' He replied: 'But Didier, each time I have done it, we have got results.'"

Drogba insists Abramovich remains keen to give a coach as much support as possible, despite just two reaching triple figures of games managed during his tenure.

"When the managers come in they have carte blanche at the club," he added. "They do what they want.

"Having said that, I don't see the relationship with the chairman on a daily basis. But you can't get into a conflict with your boss. If that's the case, it's that you want to leave."
