Robbie Keane wants Aston Villa deal while the Hammers size up O’Hara

Robbie Keane has set his sights on a move to Aston Villa next month while Tottenham team‑mate Jamie O'Hara could move to West Ham on loan.

Giovani Dos Santos and David Bentley are also poised to leave White Hart Lane in the transfer window after chairman Daniel Levy told Harry Redknapp he must sell before he can add to his squad.

Keane has already been told he can quit the club and Standard Sport understands he would welcome a move to Villa, who have bid £6m.

The striker has started just two games this season and has scored only 15 goals since rejoining from Liverpool in February 2009.

He sees Villa as the perfect club to resurrect his career and his decision will disappoint Fulham, Wolves, Stoke and West Ham, who have also shown an interest in the 30-year-old.

The Hammers, though, could get O'Hara, who is close to returning to fitness having been out all season with a back problem.

The midfielder is unlikely to get many chances in Redknapp's side and Standard Sport believes Avram Grant wants O'Hara on a temporary deal. West Ham's manager is a huge admirer of the 24-year-old having signed him on loan while in charge at Portsmouth last term.

O'Hara played a major role in Portsmouth reaching the FA Cup Final, although a move may depend on whether under pressure Grant keeps his job at the Premier League's bottom club.

Forward Dos Santos, 21, and winger Bentley, 26, have also been told they are no longer required but the latter's hopes of a return to Blackburn on loan seem to have been dashed by the sacking of Sam Allardyce. The duo have made only eight appearances between them this season.

One player who will be staying is 21‑year‑old left‑back Gareth Bale, who continues to attract interest after a stunning 2010.

Levy told last night's AGM: "Gareth's got a long contract and I can assure you he will not be sold."
