Real Madrid will play Juventus in the Champions League Final after the holders beat city rivals Atletico 4-2 on aggregate in a pulsating semi-final.

Zinedine Zidane's Real travelled to the Calderon as heavy favourites following a 3-0 first-leg win courtesy of a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick, but Atletico took an early two-goal lead to spark hopes of a stunning comeback.

Saul Niguez headed home a 12th-minute corner before Antoine Griezmann doubled Atleti's lead from the penalty spot 17 minutes later to spark scenes of jubilation within the Calderon, which was hosting its final European game before the club move to their new Wanda Metropolitano ground this summer.

The early goals rocked Los Blancos, but Zidane's side regained their composure before the interval as Isco finished after brilliant byline work from Karim Benzema to restore Real's momentum in the tie.

Referee Cuneyt Cakir was forced to brandish five first-half yellow cards as tempers boiled over, and while Atletico won 2-1 on the night, Real eased through 4-2 on aggregate.

Real join Juve in the Final on June 3 at the Milennium Stadium in Cardiff after the Serie A giants beats Monaco 4-1 on aggregate to seal their spot in Wales.
