Real Madrid stars could face action after new Barca storm

High spirits: Eric Abidal is at the centre of Barca's celebrations after he returned to action last night following surgery on a liver tumour and helped the club reach the Champions League Final at Wembley

Real Madrid's players were angry again today after their exit from the Champions League at the hands of Barcelona.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Iker Casillas may both find themselves in trouble with UEFA after questioning the integrity of Belgian referee Frank De Bleeckere during last night's 1-1 draw.

Ronaldo said: "Next year I think it would be better just to give the European Cup directly to Barcelona," while skipper Casillas added: "We have been robbed."

Pedro put the home side ahead in the Nou Camp before Marcelo levelled the scores as Madrid went out 3-1 on aggregate. Barca's celebrations at reaching Wembley were added to by the late appearance of Eric Abidal, who took the field of play with minutes remaining. He completed a remarkable recovery from surgery having had a tumour removed from his liver barely six weeks ago.

Coach Pep Guardiola said: "Abidal's return was the best news of the night. We dedicate this victory to him, his wife and his daughters for all they have been suffering these last six weeks."
