QPR defender Darnell Furlong closing in on £1.5m West Brom switch

New start: Furlong has spent his whole career to date at QPR

QPR defender Darnell Furlong is closing in on a move to West Bromwich Albion.

Furlong travelled to Birmingham on Monday to undergo a medical and talks over personal terms are progressing quickly.

QPR are understood to have accepted a bid in the region of £1.5m for the 23-year-old, who has been with the club for his whole career so far.

Furlong, whose father Paul also played for QPR, is now set to join WBA though and there is a chance the deal could be wrapped up today.

The right-back featured heavily for QPR in the second half of last season, but his departure could help fund a move for Ipswich Town midfielder Alan Judge.

The 30-year-old played under QPR boss Mark Warburton during his time at Brentford and a possible reunion is now on the cards.

QPR have so far failed with two offers for Judge, with the second of those closer to £500,000, and retain an interest in him.
