Nedum Onuoha believes QPR's summer signings can help take them to the next level.

The Rs were the most active club in the past two transfer windows and are likely to be again this summer, having accrued than five players already.

Ryan Nelsen, Andrew Johnson, Robert Green, Samba Diakite and Fabio da Silva have all joined the Loftus Road club, with more additions likely before the summer's out.

January recruit Onuoha has been impressed with the quality of the incoming players and expects QPR to do better than last season, when they only secured survival on the final day.

"They all appear to be excellent signings," he told the club's official website, qpr.co.uk. "You've got to trust the manager to pick the right players for the club - he's done that in the past.

"He's helped all the teams that he's been at become better sides. The players coming in will help the club to progress.

The defender added: "All being well, this should be a better year for us. I'm very excited for the new season.

"Last season, there was so much tension in the final months. But now there's hope and optimism and who knows what can happen?"
