Chris Ramsey has confirmed his desire to remain manager of QPR, despite Rangers’ relegation to the Championship.

His side travelled to Manchester City on Sunday knowing that defeat would see their return to the Premier League halted after just one season.

And Rangers were duly sent packing.

Sergio Aguero struck three times as Manuel Pellegrini’s side hit QPR for six to confirm the west London side’s relegation from the top flight, a day after Burnley suffered the same fate.

Speaking after the match, Ramsey admitted that his side ‘shot themselves in the foot’ on the day, before confirming his desire to stay on at Loftus Road.

"Yes. I really do,” he told Sky Sports. “It's a club I've taken to my heart."

"A lot of players today were playing with injuries that in most situations they wouldn't have played with.

"At the moment I'm very disappointed and gutted, more about the performance because that isn't really us. From my personal point of view I'd like to thank the owners and the fans for backing us like they have."
