Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar is facing a hefty fine after being pictured wearing a Chelsea shirt at David Luiz’s birthday party.

Luiz yesterday celebrated turning 26 with several team-mates and fellow Brazilian Cesar in attendance.

Rangers may be staring relegation in the face but Cesar donned the strip of their fierce west London rivals and posed for photos posted by his wife Susana Werner on Instagram.

Paulo Ferreira, Oscar, Gary Cahill, Ramires and Nathan Ake were among the other players in attendance.

Standard Sport understands the club are expected to fine Cesar, who earns in the region of £75,000-a-week, although manager Harry Redknapp is yet to decide on the full extent of his punishment.

Ian Taylor, the club’s Head of Media and Communication wrote on Twitter: “The club is aware of an image of Julio Cesar circulating on social networking feeds today.

“The image, which appeared on an Instagram account, has since been deleted. The club will be dealing with this issue internally.”

Cesar suggested earlier this month that he would like to remain in England even if QPR do go down, which will be confirmed should they lose at Reading on Sunday. “I’m learning a new language in London, the city is beautiful and my family is happy,” he said.
