QPR are growing in confidence that goalkeeper Rob Green can be persuaded to remain at the club.

Chelsea want Green as back-up to Thibaut Courtois, with Petr Cech expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

It is understood QPR manager Chris Ramsey has urged Green to ignore the lure of joining the champions to remain their first-choice keeper and help them secure an immediate return to the Premier League.

The 35-year-old is believed to be having doubts over losing his No1 status and spending most of the campaign on the bench.

Green still has one year left on is contract and was one of QPR’s best performers this season.
