QPR claim a first home victory in style

11 April 2012

Akos Buzsaky scored twice as Queens Park Rangers beat Barnsley 5-2 to clinch their first home win in the league this season.

A goal from Mikele Leigertwood and two from Buzsaky gave Jim Magilton's side a comfortable 3-0 lead at half-time only for the Tykes to start the second half with two quick-fire goals.

The Hungarian midfielder said: "Sometimes when you have the lead you feel very calm, sit back and think the game is over. But you cannot do that because you can lose a game from 3-0 up, so we have to learn from that."

Ben Watson and Jay Simpson were also on target for the R's as they restored their three-goal advantage.

Warnock said: "We had read that this was going to be Albion's ninth game without defeat and I think things like that help you."

He added: "Danny showed why he is a menace at this level with another goal with a not-easy header - he controlled it brilliantly."
