Tottenham have 'amazing squad' and will finish above Arsenal - Harry Redknapp

Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is confident that Spurs will finish above Arsenal this season and have a much stronger squad than their rivals.

The QPR boss also believes that his former club can mount a title challenge.

“I wouldn’t compare the two squads. Tottenham are much stronger, no doubt," he told Talksport. "There’s no reason they can’t challenge to win the league. They can be bang there. They’ll finish top four and who knows where they could finish after that?”

Redknapp, 66, who managed Tottenham between 2008 and 2012 added: “Spurs have bought some fantastic players in. Go through the squad and they are full of quality. They’ve got the French international goalkeeper [Hugo Lloris], England’s right-back [Kyle Walker], [Jan] Vertonghen is as good as anybody, [Michael] Dawson’s quality, [Younes] Kaboul is back. And look at their midfield... [Etiene] Capoue, Paulinho, [Moussa] Dembele, they all have fantastic ability. It’s an amazing squad they’ve put together.

When asked about the future of Gareth Bale, who is understood to be on the brink of signing for Real Madrid, Redknapp said: “That’s a certainty to happen. Now they’ve spent all that money there’s no way they’ll pull the plug on that deal. And the boy wants to go. We all know that for a fact.”
