Kurt Zouma admits he wants Stoke City to beat his parent club Chelsea at the bet365 Stadium.

Zouma, who joined Stoke on a season-long loan in July, cannot face Conte’s side due to loan rules.

But he has no split loyalties, saying: “It will be weird but I am a Stoke City player so I hope we win this game.

"I’m very happy because I play a lot of matches, but I can’t be happy if we lose. I am only happy if the team is winning and doing well.”

Zouma’s absence has added to Mark Hughes’ defensive issues this weekend, with former Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer struggling to be fit for the match.

Wimmer is doubtful with a hamstring injury, while club captain Ryan Shawcross and Geoff Cameron are definitely out of the game. Bruno Martins Indi is the only fit centre back at present.

Speaking to the press ahead of the match, the Potters boss said: “We are struggling a little bit defensively, I have to say."

"Ryan won't be available, Geoff Cameron won't be available and we've got a major doubt on Kevin Wimmer.

"That's touch and go. We will have to see how he is in training.

"He's damaged a hamstring. We are hoping it's not going to stop him playing. We haven't given up hope, he might be ok.

"As it stands on senior centre halves, we've only got one."
